At the end of January 2026, Dr. Carter, alongside three of her assistants – Annie Hirschberger, Kate Lee and Jade Telesford – had the incredible opportunity to travel to the Moshi Rural District of Tanzania to provide reconstructive surgical care at Kilema Hospital. During this mission trip, the team performed procedures for children and adults affected by congenital deformities, syndactyly, burn injuries and complex wound abnormalities. These surgeries helped restore function and mobility to hands and extremities that might otherwise have remained permanently impaired. Dr. Carter is deeply grateful for the collaboration with Kilema Hospital and looks forward to continuing this partnership and returning with the year to serve the community again.
